What made you choose to work in the telecommunications space?
With life changes, come unexpected opportunities. I realized that telecommunication is a field I want to be a part of and gain experience while I learn.
What do you enjoy about working at Summit Broadband?
I enjoy the encouragement I receive from my colleagues and knowing that I can ask any question without hesitation. My inquiries and suggestions are welcomed and received as we all want to succeed and provide the best support for our customers. The telecommunication world is ever changing, and I am proud to be a part of it in real time.
As a child, what did you want to be when you grew up?
A librarian or writer. As a child I was fascinated by how much information was in one room – so many books on a multitude of subjects and topics how could I choose? I was a fan of penpals, as you could imagine once email came around the appeal for colorful stationery slowly diminished. But before that happened, I had the most marvelous collection of writing utensils, I practiced calligraphy, scrap booking and mixed media art became a source of joy. As I got older used books stores became a passion, the smell of old books and how each book held its’ own story not just the words on the pages but who did this book belong to before crossing my path.
Share a fun fact about Florida or what do you enjoy best about Florida.
I was born and raised in Miami Beach and although I’ve chosen to move to Orlando in recent years, I am fond of the year round weather. I am not one for seasons, especially the colder months. It’s probably the main reason I’m still here! I do miss the beaches being two blocks away and the freedom to feel the sand between my toes, smell the salt in the air and to go into the ocean in my clothes.
How do you use the internet outside ?
The internet has enabled us to make it such an integrated part of our daily lives. When I’m not working, I use it for staying in touch with family and friends, personal finances, streaming, making the most awesome playlists, tracking my movement and my love for finding the answers to any question that may pop into my head. Some of my favorite Apps include the ones that teach you a new language, being multilingual is a future goal. I often find myself saying what did we do before google? Well, I know I spent a lot of time in the library and at the beach reading.
