What made you choose to work in the telecommunications space?
One of my best friends told me about a telecommunications course. I fell in love with the course because it taught me a lot. When I was in high school, most of my jobs were in electronic stores – and I started to love electronics too. I’ve worked in every aspect of telecommunications except for managerial positions – everything form OSP head, installer, and commercial tech.
What do you enjoy about working at Summit Broadband?
I love helping our customers – showing the new IPTV customers the new platforms and how to work the apps has been fun, and trying to educate more people in the coming years on how the industry is going to change.
As a child, what did you want to be when you grew up?
When I was younger my biggest dream was to be a football player. I joined every League and every team I could in New York City to make it work. I played in a special conference tournament so I could build a reputation as a player, and I had a few scholarship offers too. When I was a senior in High School, I was hit by a car and broke both of my legs, which ended my football dream Everything happens for a reason. If I were a football player, I wouldn’t be able to be a cable technician and help everybody.
Share a fun fact about Florida or what do you enjoy best about Florida.
I love Florida for the weather and the amount of outdoor festivals and concerts. My daughter and I go to festivals and concerts up and down Florida – we average 4 to 9 concerts a year!
Orlando Magic or Miami Heat?
I guess I’ll choose Orlando Magic because all of the basketball games I’ve seen in Florida have been Orlando Magic games. However, I wouldn’t mind going to a Miami Heat game.
