Leesburg, Fla. – September 20, 2024 Summit Broadband, a leading provider of fiber-optic telecommunications in Florida, demonstrated its commitment to the community on National Care for Kids Day by donating essential supplies to Leesburg Elementary School.

The school, which serves 95 homeless children and many others facing food insecurity, received donations of clothing, food, snacks, shoes, and jackets. These items will help students thrive in the classroom and beyond.

“We believe in giving back to the communities we serve,” said Kurt Van Wagenen, Chief Executive Officer of Summit Broadband. “We’re proud to support Leesburg Elementary School and help provide essential resources to their students, especially those facing challenging circumstances.”

Summit Broadband’s employees in Naples and Orlando donated gently used children’s clothing and goods. The company also purchased supplies to supplement the donations.

“We are incredibly grateful for Summit Broadband’s generous donation and support,” said Florence Katzenberg, Family School Liaison at Leesburg Elementary School. “These resources will make a significant difference in the lives of our students, helping them focus on their education and reach their full potential.”

Summit Broadband’s donation underscores the company’s dedication to making a positive impact in the communities it serves. In April, the company announced it was offering services to over 5,000 homes in the City of Leesburg, bringing high-speed internet access directly to residents of Leesburg for the first time.
