Technical Operations Manager
What made you choose to work in the telecommunications space?
I didn’t really choose to work in telecom, it was just meat to be. When I was younger, I had a job at a local electronics store in Long Island N.Y. This store happened to be owned by the cable provider for the area. I was tasked with setting up a display for all the new technologies offered by the company including HDTV and a 2 way cable modem. Please keep in mind this was 1997, so both products were cutting edge. I had to run coaxial cabling to the display and provision the equipment so it was fully functional. The company wanted people to see and use the “Future” of cable 😊 . Once fully set up, the company’s management team came by to see the display. One of the team members was quite impressed that I was able to make all the new tech work, with no prior experience in the industry. That man came to find me and asked, “Hey kid, you want a career?”. I have been in Telecommunications since.
What do you enjoy about working at Summit Broadband?
There are many things I personally enjoy working here. But the one that is on the top of the list would be the “Team” atmosphere. There is no one that is unapproachable within the company, no matter their position.
As a child, what did you want to be when you grew up?
Growing up I had planned on becoming a Chef. I even attended the Culinary Institute of America, where I trained to become a professional chef.
